The Birth of Atelier Creative
Atelier Creative started as a dream to create more than just photographs. I wanted to craft stories—images that would stand the test of time, moments that wouldn’t fade, and portraits that truly captured the essence of the people in front of my camera. For years, Atelier Creative thrived, allowing me to work with wonderful clients, from families to corporate leaders. Throughout that journey, my passion for portraiture only grew stronger, and I was incredibly humbled to see my work recognised with multiple awards.
Under the Atelier Creative brand, I learned and refined my style. I discovered that great portrait photography isn’t just about taking pictures—it’s about connecting with my subjects and telling their story. I was proud of the work I created, but as time passed, I started to feel that the name “Atelier Creative” no longer reflected who I was becoming as both an artist and an individual.
The Decision to Rebrand
Changing my business name from Atelier Creative to Claire Howes was a big decision. It wasn’t just about the logo or the brand—it was about embracing the next phase of my career. I realised that, as my work became more personal and intimate, it made sense to have my name associated with every portrait I took.
Rebranding to Claire Howes allows me to build a more personal connection with my clients and audience. By stepping forward as the face behind the work, I can establish trust and a deeper relationship with those who choose me to capture their most meaningful moments. It’s an opportunity for me to truly show the world who I am as a photographer and as a person.
As I thought about it more, I realised how much my work had evolved. It had become less about a studio and more about me, the artist, connecting with my clients on a deeper level. I wanted the name behind my work to reflect that.

A New Era of Photography
Since rebranding as Claire Howes, I’ve felt like a weight has been lifted off my shoulders. I’ve been able to fully embrace my unique photography style, which blends timeless photography with modern techniques. For me, photography is more than just snapping a picture—it’s about evoking emotion and creating something powerful that speaks to the viewer’s soul.
Whether I’m photographing a family, an individual, or a professional, I always strive to capture the true essence of who they are. My work has continued to evolve in the most exciting ways. With every portrait, I aim to capture a story—a moment in time that will forever be remembered and cherished.
My recognition in the photography community, with the honour of receiving licentiate status with the British Institute of Professional Photographers, has been incredibly humbling. It’s affirmed that I am on the right path, and it’s motivating me to continue pushing the boundaries of photography, experimenting with new techniques, and seeking new ways to connect with my subjects.
The Personal Touch Behind Every Shot
What truly sets me apart as a photographer is my focus on the human connection. I don’t just want to take a photo—I want to capture a moment that is real, that feels true to the person I’m photographing. It’s not about perfection; it’s about authenticity.
When I’m photographing someone, I always aim to make them feel seen and understood. This level of connection allows me to capture their truest selves. I’ve always believed that great portraiture is more than just a beautiful image—it’s an image that evokes a feeling, that speaks to the viewer long after they’ve looked away.
Whether it’s a quiet moment with a family or a professional headshot that conveys confidence, I put my heart into every shot. And when my clients see the results, I want them to see more than just a picture—I want them to see their story, captured in a way that will stand the test of time.
Looking Ahead
As I continue forward in my career as Claire Howes, I’m excited for what lies ahead. There’s so much to explore, so many new techniques and styles to try, and so many stories left to tell through my lens. But at the core of everything I do is the same mission: to create images that last forever, to capture moments that will be shared for generations, and to create portraits that speak to the heart of the people I work with.
Rebranding to Claire Howes wasn’t just about a name change—it was about fully embracing who I am as an artist and the direction I want to take my work. It’s a reflection of the journey I’ve been on and the future I’m excited to create.
So, here I am, ready to continue telling stories through my lens, capturing the moments that matter most. I invite you to join me on this next chapter of my journey—where every portrait I take is a piece of art, a story, and a memory that will last forever.
